Black Lives Matter
"Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced."- James BaldwinStatement of Solidarity
The Cadena Cultural Center, Grads to Be Program, and Transfer Center team grieves along with our students, staff, faculty, and community members impacted by the acts of injustice and anti-black violence in Minnesota, Kentucky and across the country. We recognize that these recent events have amplified awareness of the systemic racism that has disproportionately harmed Black communities for generations. We stand in solidarity with and in support of our Black Community nationwide. If it happens to one of us it happens to all of us.
By collaborating with and bringing together a network of campus and community partners, the Cadena Cultural Center will strive to promote spaces for the Fullerton College Community to process our emotions and engage in meaningful dialogue. We will also further educate ourselves and use our online platforms to post resources and information on how to support and get involved in anti-racist work.
“You have to act as if it were possible to radically transform the world. And you have to do it all the time.” – Angela Davis
